I live with my wife Shirlee on a cattle ranch near the little ski town of Red Lodge, Montana, and have been loving and writing haiku for several years now. I draw my inspiration from the images of the high-plains, mountains, weather, wildlife, livestock, ranch work and outdoor recreation which surround me daily.

Is “leaf twister” your coinage or just how people talk out there? Works fine either way.
Thanks everyone. And Bill,it was a dust devil carrying lots of leaves and looking like a small tornado. I coined the term in an effort to describe the experience in the fewest syllables possible.

I really thought ‘leaf twister’ worked, even if at first I didn’t know it was a dust devil.
