When I receive the email alert, and open that email, I always put a hand over the author's name so I can just absorb the impact of the poetry. This haiku really connected, instantly.
I was delighted to see it was from one of my favourite writers too, although the poem stands on its own two feet without any need to be supported.

I like the ambiguity of interpretation made possible by the jux with 'cold moon'. One of my readings is a humorous reading. :-)
