Beverly Acuff Momoi has written many forms of poetry but now focuses on Japanese short forms. Her work is included in numerous journals and anthologies. Her haiku collection, how the wind sighs (Red Moon Press, 2023) was awarded first place in the Haiku Society of America's Merit Book Awards, and her haibun collection, Lifting the Towhee's Song, is available online as a Snapshot Press eChapbook Award winner.

Brilliant ku Beverly. There is such humour in the observation, but also I sense in the choice of constructing the verse in a single line – the tadpoles are not big enough to "jump" like a Basho frog, onto a second or third line!
