How I feel for this one, Ben.
I've watched neighbours buy new canaries or other song birds — nightingales! — to herald each spring, only to see the empty cage a few weeks after once the nuisance of feeding/cleaning has worn off.
Please. PLEASE do not cage ANY bird, wild or otherwise.
