Wonderful pairing of images, both as comparison, but also for the sight and sound of a storm, and the careful preparation of food. Great overall imagery!
I imagined a cosy, comforting scene as the narrator watches someone – a mother or grandmother perhaps – peeling apples, perhaps for a tasty apple pie or crumble. I could even imagine a hint of cinnamon in the warm air of the kitchen!
