Welcome! tinywords 11.3, the “journeys” issue, is about to begin.
It has been my delight and honor to guest edit this issue of tinywords. I could not have
teaching my sons
to skip river stones
ripples converge
July 5th—
ants darken the edge
of a dropped chip
fireworks at twilight forsythia
(Commended in the Haiku Foundation?s 2011 HaikuNow
Contest, Innovative Category)
lovers’ moon—
a cicada leaves its shell
on the fence post
nor?easter—
scent of the river
rising
dropping my dog off
at the kennel her whine
amid all the barks
the voice
of a wrong number
for a moment
wishing I was the daughter
she’s trying to reach
summer T-ball —
between batters outfielders
chase butterflies
autumn wind —
looking up for a fly ball
lost in falling leaves
