  1. longest night –
    mattress filling
    most of a small dumpster

    whistle trailing train
    halfway across the bridge
    midnight

    high tide
    yule moon
    flowing bright

    it's Winter Solstice –
    holiday lights
    turn off by timer

    frost across the grass
    static
    spark from black cat

    no clouds in cold sky
    too much
    loneliness

    now winter –
    a squirrel still
    yells about the hawk

    last night's historical commission,
it's all about who you know

    peace
