lighting cigarettes from each other?s cigarettes the slow setting sun
—John Hawkhead
Issue 15.1 | 2 June 2015
Love how the light lingers, along with friendships. Brings to mind Buson's poem:
lighting one candle with another— spring twilight
and John Thompson's poem:
graveyard shift— lighting one cigarette with another
mosquitoes avoid the sour smoke chain linked friends
__Yours, a nifty picture of friends "sharing," John H; the friends are -linked-, Chain smokers ? _m
Nice one! The inherent connection in burning objects works well with the contrast between the actions of people and the movements of nature.
Lovely one!
Thanks for the comments – amazing knowledge; and then there was:
…marijuana smoke drifting from the café sun wheeling through clouds….
Excellent, John!
When I was a smoker, I remember that feeling of connection with other smokers when we were all outside an office building or conference venue. This reminded me of that (although I'm glad I stopped! :) )
