you and me
a log
that won’t catch
Author: Frank Hooven
Frank Hooven lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding streets, roads, river towns, farms and skies are a constant source of peace and inspiration. He has been writing haiku for several years now, and considers himself lucky to have found this form.
earthworms
at the doorstep
winter rain
dragonfly wings
more there
than meets the eye
late winter
the thump of a basketball
up and down the street
moving day
a kitten sways
from her mother’s mouth
fallen hickory nuts
another home run
off his makeshift bat
the smell of spring motorcycle sounds
Milky Way
the cigarette shorter
than the ash
line of daybreak
an evergreen sways
to stillness
Painted Desert
the colors of sunset
all day
empty
a crow leaves
the robin’s nest
spring sunrise
the length
of a toppled pine
mesa clouds
we mind each step
among the pottery shards
Nantucket Island
silence surrounds
carved teeth
winter moon
dad’s watch
in my sock drawer
